Both the above Matte and Glossy Rolls have a protective vinyl layer, this is to prevent scratching in production and transport, this will need removing before cutting). For the Glossy protective film this is transparent, for the Matte protective film this is frosted and at times the vinyl roll looks a different colour, this is not this is just the protective film).
